Immersion cooling | 浸沒式冷卻

  • 是什麼?
    浸沒式冷卻(immersion cooling)是液冷技術(liquid cooling)中的一種,透過將伺服器直接浸泡在不導電的液體中,直接將零組件產生的熱能傳導給流體,不需要其他主動式的冷卻零件,譬如散熱鰭片、導熱銅管或風扇等等,溫度上升的液體透過循環冷卻方式再回流繼續吸收熱能。理論上可以大幅提升能源效率。

  • 為何需要?
    透過浸沒式冷卻技術直接將硬體置入特殊的不導電電子工程液中,因為不用再考慮傳統空氣熱對流的因素,伺服器可以設計的極為緊密,創造出最佳的硬體密度,而去除傳統風扇的優勢就在大幅降低資料中心的室內噪音,穩定提升PUE效率,因為捨棄外部冷卻的零件所以也相對減少了需要維修的零組件。
